Home Depot Names OMD as US Media Agency of Record
Agency talent and OMD’s Omni data and analytics platform both appear to have been driving factors in the decision. “This is a case of total alignment between the needs of a modern marketer and the capabilities of a modern media agency,” OMD USA CEO John Osborn said in a statement.
The appointment concludes a media agency review launched by Home Depot last June, which was managed by consultancy Roth Ryan Hayes.

Home Depot Names BBDO as US Creative Agency of Record

Home Depot appointed BBDO as its U.S. creative agency of record, consolidating its creative and media accounts in the U.S. with Omnicom. The appointment follows Home Depot’s selection of Omnicom Media Group’s OMD as U.S. media agency of record in January. Home Depot highlighted the benefits of consolidating with one holding company in a statement confirming the selection.
“We’re thrilled about our new partnership with BBDO. They do a fantastic job of combining art and science throughout the creative process, which with our new shared relationship with OMD, will create great synergy in our strategy,” Home Depot spokesperson Yanique Woodall said in a statement. “This relationship reflects our internal team’s partnership to create new and exciting customer experiences together.”

“We’ve seen a very specific move in the multicultural agency’s role from distributing the core marketing message in relevant ways; to active participation in the origination of the core messaging strategies,” Matt Ryan, CEO of consultancy Roth Ryan Hayes said. “Several leading marketers are asking their lead agencies to both deliver multiculturalism at their core and to work collaboratively with their specialist partners.”

Enterprise Names Ogilvy as its Agency of Record for Brand Strategy
The appointment follows a three-month review
Enterprise Holdings—parent of car rental companies Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent a Car—has named Ogilvy as its first agency of record to lead global brand strategy.
The announcement comes six months after it was reported the St. Louis, Missouri-based company was conducting three separate reviews to find agency partners across global media, brand strategy, and digital as it looked to increase its marketing spend. A person close to the process confirmed the review lasted three months and produced four finalists before a decision was made.

Valvoline Picks Hill Holliday as its Global Creative Agency

After greasing up its engines, Valvoline has chosen Hill Holliday as its agency of record, following a multi-agency pitch.
The move means Valvoline is parting ways with Big Communications, its prior agency of record.

CVS Health Moves U.S. Creative Account to Publicis Groupe
CVS Health has hired Publicis Groupe for its creative and CRM account in the U.S. The decision was made following a review that began in July and was reported to have been handled by consultant Roth Ryan Hayes.
The business was formerly with BBDO, which held the account since 2014. Omnicom Group, Interpublic Group of Cos. and Stagwell are believed to have participated in the review as well, using a mix of their agencies.

Russel Wohlwerth Named Partner at RRH
Russel Wohlwerth has been named partner at Roth Ryan Hayes consultancy to support the firm’s expansion into L.A. and build its global presence. Prior to joining Roth Ryan Hayes, Wohlwerth served as the owner and founder of External View Consulting Group, which specialized in marketing agency supplier management.
